Program Scope: What Will You Do?
The primary goal of this fellowship is to help you finish your dissertation. However, you will also be an active member of the academic community. Research Access: You will have full access to BC’s 7 libraries, including the renowned Nicholas M. Williams/Caribbeana Collection (materials from Africa, Jamaica, and the British West Indies). Teaching & Speaking: Fellows are required to: Remain in residence for the academic year. Deliver one public lecture. Teach one seminar course (compensated with a taxable service stipend).
Eligibility Criteria
This fellowship is open to scholars from all over the world. To qualify, you must meet these specific requirements:
- PhD Status: You must be currently enrolled in a PhD program and be ABD (All But Dissertation) by the start of the fellowship year.
- Field of Study: Your project must focus on topics within African and/or African Diaspora Studies (Social Sciences or Humanities).
- Citizenship: There are no citizenship requirements. International scholars are welcome to apply.
- Project Type: Preference is given to innovative, interdisciplinary projects that engage with critical issues in the field.
