Eligibility Criteria

The UGC has strict eligibility rules for Indian applicants. Before you apply, ensure you meet the following conditions:

Mandatory Requirements

• Citizenship: You must be an Indian citizen.
• Age Limit: Applicants born after 31 August 2008 are NOT eligible to apply.
• Academic Performance: You must have secured at least 60% marks in your last passed examination.
• Education History: Your last study program must have been completed at a recognized Indian Educational Institute.
• Previous Winners: If you have previously availed this scholarship, you can only apply for a different or higher level of study.

How to Apply (Step-by-Step)

This application has two mandatory parts. Failing to complete either will lead to rejection.

Step 1: Online Application (Deadline: 15 Jan 2026)

Visit the official Tempus Public Foundation website (www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu) and submit your application online. Make sure to upload all required documents, including your passport, mark sheets, and birth certificate.

Step 2: Submit Hard Copy to UGC (Deadline: 22 Jan 2026)

After submitting the online form, take a printout of the application. You must send this printout along with self-attested copies of your supporting documents to the UGC office in New Delhi.

5. Note: If your mark sheet uses CGPA, you must attach a conversion table and a separate sheet converting it to a percentage.
